Veritas Graphics currently handles the realisation of a large number of Chamber of Commerce Annual Directory and Monthly magazines, some School annual Directory, Directory of Caritative organisations, Sports Clubs etc... RequirementsThe company sells advertisements in these various publications using a team of Sales executives, and was constantly confronted with two serious problems:
- Requirements to know what advertisement spaces had been sold and what was still left vacant.
- Centralised database where all customer details would be maintained and everyone would work from this central repository to keep information up to date for all. They first approached us to resolve these 2 problems.
The SolutionWhile we were designing the database, it became obvious that SafeComs could elegantly rework the quoting mechanism of their Sales staff, and maximise the use of a centralised tool to offer better deals to their potential customers. 
To that extend, Safecoms, together with their management designed a new interface to automate the creation of a "Media Plan", where the customer would simply say when he wants to run a promotion, for how long, what budget he wants to dedicate to it, and which target market he is pursuing. He will answer a few questions about the type of ads he prefers, and mention publications he request or deny. The system will immediately search the entire database of available ad spaces and propose a perfectly tailored Media Plan to the customer for approval.
